Veteran Bollywood actor Manoj Kumar, fondly called “Bharat Kumar” for his patriotic-themed films, passed away on April 4, 2025, at the age of 87. He breathed his last at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai due to heart-related complications.

Born as Harikishan Giri Goswami on July 24, 1937, in Abbottabad, now in Pakistan, Manoj Kumar was celebrated for films like Upkar, Purab Aur Paschim, and Kranti. His contributions to Indian cinema earned him prestigious honors, including the Padma Shri and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award.
He is survived by his wife, Shashi Goswami, and two sons. His funeral is scheduled for April 5 at Pawan Hans in Vile Parle, Mumbai. Bollywood mourns the loss of an icon who left an indelible mark on Indian cinema.
