Reliance Jio has announced a strategic partnership with SpaceX’s Starlink to introduce satellite-based broadband services in India. This collaboration aims to improve internet connectivity, especially in remote and underserved regions, using Starlink’s low-earth orbit (LEO) satellite technology.

Under the agreement, Jio will distribute Starlink’s satellite internet kits through its extensive retail network and online platforms. The telecom giant will also provide installation and customer support services, ensuring a seamless experience for users. The partnership explores further cooperation between Jio and SpaceX to enhance digital infrastructure and expand broadband access across India.
This move comes amid growing competition in India’s telecom sector, with Bharti Airtel also partnering with Starlink for satellite internet services. Both companies are awaiting regulatory approval from the Indian government before officially launching their services.
With Starlink’s high-speed, low-latency connectivity and Jio’s strong market presence, this partnership is expected to revolutionize India’s digital landscape. It will play a crucial role in bridging the connectivity gap in rural areas, supporting businesses, education, and healthcare. Once approved, the Jio-SpaceX collaboration could transform India’s internet ecosystem, offering faster, more reliable broadband access to millions.
