A devastating plane crash occurred on Sunday at Muan International Airport in South Korea’s Muan County, leaving only two survivors from the 181 people on board. The Jeju Air flight from Bangkok veered off the runway during landing, collided with a fence, and burst into flames. The incident happened at 9:07 am local time.
The aircraft was carrying 175 passengers, primarily South Korean nationals, and six crew members. Videos broadcast on local TV show the plane attempting to land without its landing gear deployed, skidding along the runway before crashing into a concrete wall and exploding.
Authorities have shifted from rescue to recovery efforts as most passengers are feared dead, with firefighting teams working to retrieve bodies from the wreckage.
