The School Post Young Author Awards 2024 Celebrated with Grandeur in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad, September 3, 2025: The much-awaited 6th Edition of the Young Author Awards was celebrated on Wednesday at Cube Grand, Hotel Wyndham, Club O7, Shela, Ahmedabad. The event witnessed the presence of over 80 nominees and their parents from schools across Gujarat, making it an inspiring evening of creativity and recognition.

Organised by The School Post, Gujarat’s leading monthly student newspaper published since 1998 by Times Communication, the Young Author Awards have grown into a prestigious platform for nurturing and acknowledging budding writers. This year, the Awards received over 1,200 entries from across the state, divided into Juniors (Grades IV–VII) and Seniors (Grades
VIII–XII) categories.

The highlight of the evening was the felicitation of winners whose stories were selected for the “Hall of Fame” and published in the annual anthology Pens of Fame – Volume V. A total of 27 outstanding stories were featured in this year’s edition, with the winning entries from each grade opening their respective sections in the book. The anthology has been distributed to school libraries across Gujarat, inspiring countless young readers.

Alongside individual trophies for Young Authors, schools with exceptional participation and winners were also recognised. The event not only applauded talent but also reaffirmed the mission of the Young Author Awards—to ignite imagination and encourage storytelling among children.

With an engaging evening of literary celebration, the Young Author Awards 2024 once again proved to be a milestone in empowering the voices of tomorrow.

The function was presided over by Shri Himanshu Mehta, Programme Head, Door Darshan Kendra Ahmedabad. The awards were supported by Club o7, Indext-C, GMDC, GEDA, GEER Foundation, GUJCOST, Gujarat Tourism, ONGC and Somani’s Clinic.
