The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced strict rules to prevent unfair practices during exams. Under its “unfair means rules,” students found carrying prohibited items like mobile phones, smartwatches, or any electronic gadgets in the examination hall will face cancellation of their exams for both the current year and the next. Even if such devices are not used, their possession will lead to the same penalty. To ensure compliance, CBSE will conduct thorough physical frisking at examination centers.

Students are advised to bring only permitted items, such as their admit cards, pens, and simple analog watches, to the exam hall. CBSE has also issued a warning against sharing exam-related content or rumors on social media, as doing so will result in strict action. Schools have been directed to widely share these rules to help students understand and follow them.
These measures aim to maintain the integrity of the board exams, which are scheduled to begin on February 15, 2025, for Class 10 and 12 students. Around 44 lakh students will be appearing, and CBSE’s focus is on ensuring a fair and disciplined examination process.
