Gandhinagar, June 10, 2025: The 23rd Shala Praveshotsav and Kanya Kelavani Mahotsav will be held from June 26 to 28, 2025, across Gujarat. The event promotes 100% school enrollment and encourages girls’ education. This year’s theme is “Let’s Make Shala Praveshotsav a Societal Celebration.”
Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel will lead the campaign, along with cabinet ministers, officers (IAS, IPS, IFS), and local leaders. The initiative aims to enroll 25.75 lakh students from Balvatika to Standard 11 in over 38,000 government and grant-in-aid schools.
Started by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in 2002 when he was Gujarat’s Chief Minister, the program has now completed 22 years. CM Patel emphasized teamwork to boost enrollment in government schools and raise awareness about the Namo Lakshmi scheme (for girls in Std 9–12) and Namo Saraswati scheme (to promote science education).
Education Minister Dr. Kuber Dindor shared that AI tools will track dropout risks, especially in Std 8 to 9 and 10 to 11 transitions. Chief Secretary Shri Pankaj Joshi said the event is now a people-driven movement. Officials will also gather feedback from School Management Committees during visits.
