Scientists have unveiled a detailed digital reconstruction of Saint Nicholas of Myra’s face, revealing a “strong and gentle” visage with features that resemble the modern depiction of Santa Claus. Using advanced 3D techniques based on the saint’s skull, lead researcher Cicero Moraes and his team crafted a lifelike image, complete with a broad face and thick beard reminiscent of the description in the 1823 poem A Visit from St. Nicholas.
