Rohit Sharma made an unwanted record in the IND vs AUS 5th Test, becoming the first Indian captain to be dropped mid-series. The decision came after his poor batting form in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, where he managed only 31 runs in five innings. Jasprit Bumrah is leading the team in his absence.
Rohit struggled throughout the series, batting at different positions but failing to find his rhythm. Despite his scores of 3, 6, 10, 3, and 9, Bumrah defended Rohit’s leadership, saying, “Our captain has shown leadership by opting to rest for this game. It reflects the unity and selflessness in our team.”
