Robofest Gujarat 4.0 Finale Begins at Gujarat Science City

The grand finale of Robofest Gujarat 4.0, India’s largest robotics competition, is being held at Gujarat Science City, Ahmedabad, from January 21 to 24. The event features seven categories of robots, including self-balancing robots, underwater robots, rovers, hexapod robots, swarm robots, maze-solving robots, and application-based robots. These innovative creations have been developed by students from STEM institutions under GUJCOST.

Out of 1,284 registered teams nationwide, 169 teams emerged as winners in the preliminary rounds. From these, 100 teams were selected to present their Proof of Concepts in the finale. Prestigious institutions such as IITs and NITs are participating in this competition, emphasizing its high standards and educational significance.

The finale includes a robotic gallery walkthrough, exhibitions, interactions with domain experts, and live demonstrations of the prototypes, fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among young minds. Around 500 students, mentors, experts, and industry representatives are attending the event, with an estimated 5,000 students from across Gujarat visiting Science City to witness cutting-edge advancements in robotics.

The competition was inaugurated by Ms. Mona Khandhar, Principal Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology, along with other eminent dignitaries, including GUJCOST Advisor Dr. Narottam Sahu and SAC-ISRO Director Mr. Nilesh Desai. The event promises to showcase groundbreaking innovations and inspire the next generation of roboticists.
