A big moment in India’s railway history is here — the Kashmir Valley will now be connected by train! Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to launch the first-ever Vande Bharat Express to the region. This is a major step in bringing better travel options to the people of Jammu & Kashmir.

The new train route will connect the valley with the rest of the country, passing through the beautiful mountains of the Pir Panjal range. It will use the Banihal rail tunnel — India’s longest — to cross into the valley. This high-speed, comfortable train will make journeys quicker and more enjoyable.
PM Modi will also flag off several new rail services and projects in Jammu and Kashmir. These include new electrified routes and better train stations, which will help improve transport and bring more jobs and tourism to the area.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said this is a proud moment for Indian Railways and the people of Kashmir.
The Vande Bharat Express is known for its speed, modern design, and passenger comfort — and now, it’s heading to the valley for the first time ever!
