ISRO to Launch Robotic Arm in Space with SPaDEX Collaboration
Share
ISRO is set to launch its pioneering Space Docking Experiment (SpaDEX) on December 30, 2024. This mission will feature a cutting-edge robotic arm designed to capture tethered space debris, marking a major milestone in India’s space capabilities.
Equipped with advanced sensors and cameras, the robotic arm will enable vision-based manipulation, which is crucial as space debris continues to pose an increasing threat to spacecraft. Developed by the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), the arm will use visual servoing and object motion prediction to navigate the challenging space environment effectively.
