In response, India addressed the United Nations, accusing Pakistan of being a “rogue state” that supports terrorism. India’s representative pointed to a recent interview where Pakistan’s Defence Minister, Khawaja Asif, admitted that Pakistan had previously supported and trained terrorist groups. India believes this confession reveals Pakistan’s involvement in promoting violence in the region.

Following the attack, India took several measures: it suspended the Indus Waters Treaty, which governs water sharing between the two countries, and closed its airspace to Pakistani flights. Pakistan, in turn, suspended the Simla Agreement, a key peace accord between the nations.

The international community has expressed concern over the escalating tensions. Many countries have called for calm and urged both India and Pakistan to resolve their differences through dialogue to ensure peace in the region.
