Delhi–Jaipur Travel Now in Just 3 Hours

Share

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has launched a 10-day toll-free trial of the Bandikui–Jaipur Link Expressway, dramatically reducing the travel time between Delhi and Jaipur to just 2.5–3 hours. The newly built 66.9-km four-lane expressway, constructed at a cost of ₹1,368 crore, serves as a vital link between the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway and Jaipur city. Officials say the project was completed ahead of schedule and is now undergoing final quality checks before tolling begins.

The trial run began on July 2, 2025, at 8 AM, allowing vehicles to travel at speeds of up to 120 km/h. The expressway cuts down the travel time between Bandikui and Jaipur to just 25–30 minutes, nearly halving the previous duration. The full Delhi–Jaipur journey, which often took 5 to 6 hours on NH-48, can now be completed in under 3 hours using this link.

Key infrastructure on the route includes five interchanges, with the Khuri Interchange connecting the Manoharpur–Kauthun route. Additional access points like the Bagrana Cloverleaf, near Jaipur Ring Road, have been developed to ensure smooth entry and exit for vehicles, reducing congestion on parallel routes. The road has been designed for high-speed, uninterrupted travel with wide slip lanes and grade-separated junctions.

Currently, the route is toll-free during the 10-day trial, but FASTag-based tolling will begin once the trial ends. NHAI Project Director B. S. Joiya confirmed that toll plazas are fully prepared and awaiting final clearance. The toll for a one-way trip between Delhi and Jaipur is expected to be around ₹680–₹690 once the entire stretch is operational.
