The group stage kicks off on September 16, 2025, and the format follows the typical home-and-away schedule. For FC Goa, this opportunity came after securing their spot through a 2–1 playoff win over Oman’s Al Seeb in the Super Cup qualifiers.

The potential showdown between FC Goa and an Al-Nassr side led by Cristiano Ronaldo, joined by stars like João Félix, Sadio Mané, and Marcelo Brozović, promises to be one of the most monumental fixtures in Indian club football history.

FC Goa club CEO Ravi Puskur described hosting Al-Nassr and Ronaldo as “arguably the biggest game in our history,” calling it a “once-in-a-lifetime moment for FC Goa”. Forward Brison Fernandes echoed this sentiment, calling the prospect of facing his hero Ronaldo “a dream”.

However, doubts remain about whether Ronaldo will actually travel to India. Reports suggest his Al-Nassr contract includes a clause allowing him to skip away matches, possibly excluding him from the Goa fixture. Still, he is expected to feature in the home leg at Al-Awwal Park in Riyadh.

Match Dates (as per latest reports):

  • FC Goa vs Al-Nassr at Goa’s Fatorda Stadium: October 22, 2025

  • Al-Nassr vs FC Goa in Riyadh: November 5, 2025
