Ahmedabad’s green initiative took another step forward with the inauguration of a new Oxygen Park in South Bopal by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. Spread over 1,900 sq.m. and developed by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) on a PPP model, the park features lush greenery, walking tracks, and seating gazebos. A diverse range of trees and flowering plants, including neem, teak, gulmohar, and mogra, add to its appeal, creating a serene environment for residents.
This addition is part of AMC’s larger Mission Million Trees campaign, under which 75 lakh trees have been planted over the past five years. With 319 Oxygen Parks/Urban Forests and 303 gardens across Ahmedabad, the city continues to strengthen its commitment to urban greenery. The initiative underscores AMC’s focus on enhancing citizens’ well-being and creating sustainable urban spaces.
