The Gujarat government has announced significant changes to the rules for Class 11 and 12 Science examinations, aimed at reducing academic stress and providing greater flexibility for students.

Key Amendments:

  1. Flexibility in Subject Groups for Class 11 Students:
Students in Class 11 Science can now pass with any group and switch to a different group in Class 12 if they feel their initial choice was unsuitable. This change allows students to realign their academic focus based on their interests and strengths.
  2. Supplementary Exam Options for Class 12 (B Group) Students:
    • Failed Students: Students failing a main subject in Class 12 (B Group) can now appear for supplementary exams as individual candidates. This eliminates the need to retake the entire examination.
    • Optional Maths Exam: Students who pass Class 12 (B Group) now have the opportunity to appear for a supplementary Mathematics exam, enhancing their eligibility for various academic or professional courses.
  3. Revised Exam Schedule for HSC 2025:
The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has rescheduled the Class 12 exams, originally coinciding with Holi on March 13, 2025. The updated timetable sets the exams from February 27 to March 17, 2025.

These reforms aim to ease the academic burden on students while promoting flexibility and better alignment with their future aspirations.
