On May 7, 2025, the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) received a dangerous message in their email inbox. The message said, “We will blast your stadium.” This email caused a lot of worry because big cricket matches are scheduled to be played soon at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Immediate Police Action
As soon as the email was read, the police were called. Special teams like the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) and dog squads quickly arrived at the stadium. They searched every corner — the dressing rooms, the stands, the VIP areas, and even the parking lots. Thankfully, they did not find any bomb or explosive material.
Cyber Clues and Mystery
Police also called in their cybercrime team to investigate where the email came from. It was discovered that the email was sent using something called the TOR browser and a VPN, which helps hide someone’s location online. Early reports suggest the message may have come from outside India — possibly Germany or Romania — but the sender has not yet been found.
IPL Matches Coming Soon
This stadium is one of the largest in the world and is getting ready to host two important IPL matches:
Gujarat Titans vs. Lucknow Super Giants on May 14
Gujarat Titans vs. Chennai Super Kings on May 18
Because of this, the police want to make sure the stadium and fans are completely safe.
Extra Security Measures
After the threat, the government increased security not just at the stadium, but also in other big cities in Gujarat, like Gandhinagar, Surat, and Vadodara. Extra police officers are on duty, and everyone is being asked to stay alert.
Search for the Sender
An official police complaint (called an FIR) has been filed. Cyber teams are working with international agencies to try and track down who sent the threat and why.
