Bhagavad Gita To Be Part of Syllabus in Gujarat Schools

Gujarat government has decided to include Shrimad Bhagavad Gita in the school syllabus for Classes 6-12. The State government circular idea was to cultivate a sense of pride and connection to traditions. According to Gujarat’s Education Minister Jitu Vaghani ,Shrimad Bhagavad Gita values, principles and importance are accepted by people of all religions. In class VI, Bhagavad Gita will be introduced in such a way that students will develop an interest in it.From Classes 9 to 12, it will be introduced in the form of storytelling in the textbook of the first language. Schools shallorganise activities based on the scripture such as prayers, shloka recitation, comprehension, drama, quiz, painting and elocution competitions.
