Anurag Kashyap has confirmed his shift from Mumbai to Bangalore, citing the “toxic” environment in Bollywood, driven by a focus on box-office earnings rather than creative expression. He expressed frustration with the industry’s emphasis on films aiming for huge financial success, leaving little room for artistic freedom. Kashyap praised South Indian cinema for offering more space for innovation. Currently, he is working on his upcoming film, Dacoit, while promoting the Hindi release of Footage.
