With Love ………From your Teachers

5th September has always had have a special place in our hearts. The relation that we shared was sacred, loved, and fondly remembered down the years…….Today it seems it has been replaced with mistrust and bitterness towards us. What has gone wrong in our relation with each other? Or is it just the seeds of doubt that have been planted by a few people who would go to any extend for some publicity or money.

We still remember the first day when you walked down the school corridor, when you let go the hand of your most trusted ones, to get a firmer grip on the ones who were waiting with a smile for you. That trickle of tear washed away by a hug and songs specially sung to make you special. As time flew by we saw you grow up into beautiful individuals and with a new found freedom of your thoughts you started expressing your ideas. We worked together in harmony to make your thoughts into reality. Then, where has the love gone away?

We still remember filling up your achievement cards with pride, feeling sad when you didn’t quite make it yet, keeping a smile to let you know that everything is going to be alright. Your smallest success has excited us and your failures have pained us. Your handmade cards have held a special place in our shelves. Your smiles and wishes have always been a part of our fondest memories. Then, where has the warmth gone away?

We can still hear your laughs and giggles reverberating in the halls, the pitter patter of your footsteps going to your classes, your voices floating from across the music class, your endearing efforts to cheer us up when you have been naughty. We still remember the picnics we have enjoyed together, lovingly exploring the new world with awe and wonder, sharing experiences. We have had our irreconcilable differences, but still you have trusted us with your best kept secrets. Then where has the trust gone away?

Haven’t  your souls ever been ‘Inspired’ by ‘A Teacher’? ‘Inspired’ to stand up for the truth and to fight against injustice , ‘Inspired’ to have the passion and courage to realize your goals and aspirations, yet keep them humble, ‘Inspired’ to regain your confidence and have a positive attitude when you were feeling down and grouchy, ‘Inspired’ to have the mettle to solve your worst problems even when your near and dear ones had given up on you, ‘Inspired’ to make the optimum use of your potentials and strive for excellence with the firm belief that it can change  your destiny. Then, why this resentment towards us?

We agree that a few rotten apples amongst us have shaken your faith, but haven’t we taught you to identify the good from the bad?

Please know that you will always have a special place in our hearts, but will it be the same for you? Will the 5th Septembers hold the same meaning to you and us as it did years before?
