President Murmu names new governors for Manipur, Mizoram, Kerala, Bihar, and Odisha

President Droupadi Murmu has announced gubernatorial appointments for five states. Ajay Kumar Bhalla, former Union Home Secretary, is now the governor of Manipur, replacing Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya, who held additional charge. Retired General Vijay Kumar Singh has been appointed governor of Mizoram. Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan has been shifted to Bihar ahead of next year’s assembly elections. Vishwanath Arlekar becomes the new governor of Kerala, while Mizoram Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati replaces Raghubar Das as Odisha’s governor.

These appointments take effect upon assuming office.
