Founder Principal & Ex Director – Shri Shyam Sunder Lal Agrawal

Shri Shyam Sunder Lal Agrawal joined the Vidyalaya as the Founder Principal in 1993 and later in the year 1997, he took up the reins of the Vidyalaya as the Director and worked up to 31st December, 2011.
With a luminous academic career, he has degrees from University of Allahabad, Aligarh Muslim University and Delhi University. He stood first class first and won the University medal in the B. Ed. examination of Aligarh Muslim University in 1959. He has done his post graduation (M. A.) with Geography and also in Education (M. Ed.). He has taught at college and university level. He was the founder Principal of Vaish College of Education, Rohtak (Haryana) and Principal of four Kendriya Vidyalayas in the country.
A strict disciplinarian, Shri Agrawal has made the Maharaja Agrasen Vidyalaya as an exemplary school affiliated to CBSE. He has been managing the school well ever since its inception in 1993, first as Principal and then as Director. He has taken Maharaja Agrasen Vidyalaya to lofty heights in a very short span with his dedication, hard work and administrative acumen.
As Professor of Education, Principal and Director, Shri Agrawal has organized several seminars, In-service courses, sports meets, cultural and literary meets, camps, rallies, inspections etc. He has been associated with many universities and educational institutes in different capacities.
He has been rendering valuable services to the Agrawal Samaj, Arya Samaj, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and to humanity at large and for this he has been honored by the All India Agrawal Sammelan at Kurukshetra on 14.04.2003. The Gujarat Pradesh Agrawal Sammelan too accoladed him with ‘Agravibhuti Samman’ Surat on 27.12.2002 for his services in the field of Education.

Executive Director – Dr. (Smt)Shobha Tyagi

Dr. Shobha Tyagi joined Maharaja Agrasen Vidyalaya, Ahmedabad in July, 1997 as Principal and after successful tenure spanning 20 years as the Principal, now has been providing her services as the Executive Director of the Vidyalaya. She hails from the science discipline and has a doctorate from the University of Meerut (1984). Her academic career has been sparkling: she stood first class first in her college – Maitreyi College – during her graduation from Delhi University; she also secured third position in her M.Sc. from Meerut University. She has so far published/co-authoredsevenresearchpapers.
She started her professional career as a lecturer at the age of 22 in Multanimal Modi PG College, Modinagar, UP.
She taught Biology at Beersheba Senior Secondary school, Haldwani, Nainital and at Rajkumar College, Rajkot,Gujarat and even as the Principal of Maharaja Agrasen Vidyalaya, she continued her teaching stint.
Dr Tyagi was the founder principal of Anand Niketan School, Ahmedabad. She has worked as Observer, Superintendent, Chief Nodal Supervisor and member of Inspection Committee for Affiliation of Schools for several years.She is hardworking, co-operative, sincere and an excellent administrator.
Under her able & incessant guidance, the school has scaled many heights and has earned a special niche among the CBSE schools in the state of Gujarat. The results of the school Board Examinations have always been 100% year after year.
Dr Tyagi is the recipient of Dr Radhakrishnan Award instituted by Avantika, a group of contemporary artists and educationists, Delhi, for meritorious services in the field of education.
She has also been awarded a the Best Principal award from Science Olympiad Foundation in 2011 & 2012. Under her leadership school also received National Sanitation Award 2012 by CBSE. Under her premium leadership & guidance, MAV celebrated its Silver Jubilee Year in 2017-18 successfully.

The Vidyalaya has an extensive, beautiful, magnificent and a very neat and clean building, said to be one of the best in Ahmedabad. It is a four storied building having 37 spacious classrooms, 6 special subjects rooms, 3 well equipped Science Laboratories, large and well stocked Library, Audio-visual room, Examination room, Administrative block, 3 Staff rooms, Conference Hall, Activity Hall, Amphi-theatre, Medical rooms, Stores and 16 sets of Toilets for staff (Ladies & Gents ) and Girls and boys. There is a separate wing for K. G. Classes having garden, Play Field, Toys’ Room and other facilities. The entire building is well ventilated and properly lighted.

Principal – Dr.(Smt.) Neeta Awasthi

Dr. (Smt.) Neeta Awasthi assumed charge of Principal, Maharaja agasen Vidyalaya on 1st July, 2017.
She is associated with teaching –learning process for over twenty five years. She owns a wonderful academic record. She has completed her masters in Chemistry as well as in Education from Kumaon University, Nainital, Uttrakhand. Presently, she is pursuing her doctoral research on an interesting topic correlating adolescent, parent and teachers. During her long career in Maharaja Agrasen Vidyalaya, she has delivered duties in various capacities in both academic and administrative domains. She has served as Head of Department (Science) and Supervisor of the school besides delivering duties as Head Examiner, Centre Superintendent of various board and competitive examinations conducted by UGC and CBSE respectively.
Under her able guidance, students of the school have brought laurels through their excellent performances in State and National level competitions and in various National and International Olympiads.
She is in favour of the use of technology in education but believes in hard work, regularity, honesty and sincerity. She firmly believes in holistic development of children and tries to provide that platform to students.
She values the culture and the ideologies of the Vidyalaya and believes the Vidyalaya motto “ENTER TO LEARN, GO OUT TO SERVE”.
