There once lived a rabbit called, Dumpy. He had made his home in the jungle. Dumpy had many friends, among them was a bear. His name was Bunty.
One day, a gang of hyenas came to the jungle. They were bullies. “Let us scare these silly little fellows,” called one of the hyenas. Then the hyenas charged on all the animals. “Help!” the poor animals screamed and ran. Dumpy and Bunty too, ran away. “Those bullies are scaring all of us,” said Dumpy. The hyenas then entered the houses of all the animals and ate up their food. “Yummy, yummy !” they laughed, enjoying the food. Later they took away clothes and other belongings. “I can live happily forever with all these clothes,” announced a hyena, laughing. “It’s high time we hit back. Let’s teach a lesson to the ruffians. It’s said that fortune favours the brave!” Bunty and Dumpy decided.
As night fell, Dumpy and Bunty slipped out of their hiding place and went looking for the hyenas. They had a plan. They found the hyenas fast asleep in a cave. Dumpy and Buntry quickly tied the hyenas with the rope. One hyena’s leg was tied to the other’s.
Not knowing that their legs were tied, the hyenas woke up. “We must attack the cowardly animals again,” they laughed, victoriously. But the moment they got up and broke into a run, they tripped over and crash landed, hurting themselves. Now it was their turn to scream for help.
Meanwhile, Bunty and Dumpy approached their king lion and appealed, “Your majesty, the ruffian hyenas are attacking and robbing us, and thus, spoiling your kingdom, too!” It annoyed the kingl lion, Who dares such ruffian act in my kingdom?” he thundered as he sprang up and chased the hyenas. The culprit hyenas left the jungle and took refuge elsewhere.
“It was so challenging to teach those bullies a lesson,” said Dumpy and Bunty to their friends. Once again there was peace in the forest.
