At the dawn of 2025, India ushered in not only the New Year but also its first baby of the new generation, “Gen Beta.” Born at 12:03 AM on January 1 in Mizoram’s Aizawl, Baby Frankie is the country’s first Gen Beta, marking the start of an exciting new generational era.
Frankie Remruatdika Zadeng, born at Synod Hospital in Aizawl, is part of a family of three: his older sister, mother Ramzirmawii, and father ZD Remruatsanga. At birth, Frankie weighed 3.12 kg and was reported to be in good health. His mother expressed immense joy at having the country’s first Beta baby.
Globally, the first Gen Beta baby is Remi, born in Australia, a girl who arrived two weeks earlier than expected.
Who Are the Parents of Generation Beta?
Generation Beta children are born to younger Gen Ys (Millennials) and older Gen Zs. These parents are tech-savvy, and with their deeper understanding of social media’s benefits and pitfalls, they are more likely to guide their children toward a balanced relationship with digital platforms. Gen Z parents, in particular, are more inclined to prioritize limiting screen time compared to older Millennials.
The Characteristics of Generation Beta
Expected to make up 16% of the global population by 2035, Generation Beta will significantly influence future economies and cultures. Notably, they are projected to enjoy much longer lifespans than previous generations, with advances in healthcare and technology suggesting that many could live well into the 22nd century, marking a new era of longevity
