Laurene Powell Jobs, the widow of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs and a renowned businesswoman-philanthropist, has embraced a new spiritual identity as ‘Kamla.’ Her guru, Mahamandaleshwar Swami Kailashanand Giri of the Niranjani Akhara, bestowed the name during her visit to the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj.

Overwhelmed by the vast crowds, Laurene briefly faced health issues on Monday but recovered after rest and performing the sacred ‘Ganga Snan.’ Her enthusiasm to explore Sanatan Dharma remains undeterred, as confirmed by her guru and a statement issued by the Uttar Pradesh government.

Swami Kailashanand described Laurene as “virtuous, simple, and humble,” with a profound interest in Sanatan Dharma. Mahant Ravindra Puri, president of the Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad, said her visit to the Maha Kumbh reflects her deep admiration for the timeless sanatani culture.

Prior to her Maha Kumbh visit, Laurene also offered prayers at a temple in Varanasi, underscoring her spiritual quest and devotion.
