Baroda High School (Alkapuri) a co-educational English Medium School was founded on 13th Aug.1974 by Baroda Lions Club Educational Trust, a registered Charitable Trust. School campus is designed to cater to the needs of young and growing children. Adequate space for educational activities, various sports and co-curricular activities ensure an environment that promotes good health and well being.
P.E Room
School has P.E. Room for indoorgames(Table Tennis, Carrom, Chess) Yoga & Meditation class are also held.The School has a trained staff for all sorts of indoor and outdoor games.The Outdoor Games are Langdi, Khokho, Dodgeball, Volleyball, Football, Basketball, Handball, Cricket, Hockey etc. All students are coached & trained and students are sent for various competitions outside school.
Music & Dance Room
We have musical instruments like synthesizers, tabla, harmonium, nal, khanjari etc.which make the music and dance classes very melodious & rhythmic to the small children and so they like to attend these classes.
Computer Lab
Nowadays computers are playing very important role in every field. So, it is the necessity of today to get acquainted with the computers. Keeping in mind this requirement we provide the computer education to our students. We have two well- furnished computer laboratories with internet facility.
We impart education through innovative techniques, using educational CD’s and multimedia. We boost up the students for the use of more projects using the internet facilities, encyclopedias and multimedia.
School has two computer labs. The computers are connected by LAN (Local Area Network) facility. We have connected all the school computers with the LAN facility to make the work easy. Computers have made their space not only in computer labs and school office but also at the following sections

Library
Library caters the KG, Primary Section of the school. It has around 15,000 books The library subscribes around 30 magazines for the faculty and the students. The ratio of user and books can be estimated at 9.22% i.e. each user can issue around 10 books at a time. Computer based program on Microsoft Access is used for check in and out of books, magazines.
Art /Craft Room
We have a very qualified fine art teacher who trains our students for a variety of art & craft activities. The various activities are as follows

- Admission Procedure :
Registration for admissions for the ensuring year due as follow; -Sneh:-December
-LKG & UKG: Last Week Of March
-Primary Section: Last Week Of March
Application for admission to classes from play group to std.8 should be made to the section head of the school. A pupil seeking admission in Sneh, Lkg, Ukg or Std.1 must submit a zerox copy of the birth certificate to support the date of birth. A zerox copy of the result or the last school examination appeared will have to be submitted by the students seeking admissions in std.1 to std.8. A pupil who is seeking admission in std.1 to std.8 should submit an L.C from the school last attended ,and in case of a pupil from outside Gujarat state, the
L.C submitted must be countersigned by the inspectors of schools from the city he/she comes. Students seeking admissions in std.10 & std.8 must procure necessary permission from the district education officer.

School Trust every year organizes medical checkup for staff members(teaching and non teaching staff). This year thyroid test was
PTM
School conducts PTM at regular interval. For the last past two years it has been through google meet. Details are as follows

PTM for grade 1-4 was organized on 12.8.21 and 5-8 PTM was organized on 13.8.21.The meeting was regarding general instructions, academics and feed back regarding Google Meet (Live classes)from the parents.
Extra curricular Activities
Ganpati Celebration
To mark the beginning of the festive season, Lord Ganesha was welcomed and sthapna was done by our honourable trustee, Shri Jagdish Shukla.
Honourable Trustees Mr. Milan Mehta and Dr. S.Iyengar attended the aarti.
Gandhi Jayanti celebration
As a part of Gandhi Jayanti celebration, Shramdan was done by the students of stds 5 to 8. They plucked up the weeds from play area and did sweeping in the school campus.
To encourage students to look beyond their textual knowledge, a Quiz competition was organized on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti for the students of stds 5 to 8.
Gurupoornima Celebration
To hounorthe teaching fraternity „Gurupurnima‟ was celebrated. Our respected Principal Ms. DavinderHundal showered her blessings by giving heart warmingspeech.On this occasion, Teachers presented beautiful song „Kabir Doha‟. Navratri was celebrated virtually in the year 2020. All the teachers and children dressed up in traditional dresses and enjoyed dancing on the rhythm of Garba. Garba in the year 2021.
Yoga Day
To boost self esteem and confidence, Yoga Day is celebrated every year on 21st June. Teachers performed different aasans and did breathing exercises. To highlight the importance of music and how it is beneficial for human mind and body., Music Day was celebrated on 21.6.21.Teachers enthusiastically participated by singing melodious song.
Student’s enhancement
To help in development of mental health and physical fitness of the students, National Sports Day was celebrated. Students of std 7 and 8 took part.
Reading Skills and Vocabulary Enhancement program
School is conducting Reading Skills and Vocabulary Enhancement program tobuild vocabulary, good communication skills and to increase self-esteem. This entire programme is aimed at improving and enhancing linguistic capabilities of students across grades 1-8. The teacher incharges Ms.NidhiChudasama for std 1-4 and Ms. Sujaya Mukherjee for std 5-8 have conducted varied language-based activities, to promote proper communication in English, among the students. Some mentionable activities are Pictionary, Word-games like boggle, Comprehension Passages, Crossword Puzzles, Paragraph Writing, Make Sentences for exploring different aspects of the same word etc.
Through these activities more students get exposed to correct pronunciation of words, suitable use of words in their spoken as well as written English, communicate in grammatically viable sentences.

Major Happenings:

We are happy to share the news that all our students of Class X & XII, who appeared for Secondary and Senior Secondary School Examination by CBSE session 2020-21 passed with flying colours.
To ensure that the students develop their academic as well as extracurricular skills, our school has taken different initiatives throughout the previous years.
1: To enhance the English curriculum and to help the students to become expressive, ‘Story Time’ a new initiative by the Language Department of our school was launched.
2: To enhance the creativity of children, different activities like ‘Colour With Crayons’, ‘Lace a Toy’,‘Play Dough’, etc. were introduced.
3: To keep their tight knot with our culture’s serenity, the celebration of different festivals was done by the students.
4: Focusing the health, International Yoga day was celebrated on 21st June, wherein students as well as teachers performed various Yogasanas.
