Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has introduced an innovative vertical garden initiative to combat rising pollution and enhance the city’s aesthetics. Inspired by Surat’s successful model, this project aims to transform urban infrastructure, such as flyover pillars, into vibrant green spaces, contributing to improved air quality and a greener environment.

The pilot project has been launched at Helmet Circle, where saplings have been planted around a flyover pillar. These plants are expected to grow into creepers, creating a lush green layer over the structure. Daily care and maintenance will ensure their healthy growth. The initiative not only seeks to reduce pollution but also aims to beautify Ahmedabad’s urban landscape.

Following the success of this initial effort, AMC plans to extend the vertical garden concept to other key locations, including areas near the Narendra Modi Stadium and Pakwan Circle. This green makeover is part of AMC’s broader commitment to tackling pollution and fostering sustainable urban development.
