The Afro-Asia Cup, a once-popular cricket series, is set to return after nearly two decades. The Africa Cricket Association (ACA) is working on a partnership with the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) to bring back the tournament. The series, which features teams from both Asia and Africa, was last held in 2007. It has not been played since, despite positive fan reception.
The ACA aims to revive the competition and also launch a new T20 league called the Africa Premier League, inspired by the IPL. The Afro-Asia Cup has featured top players like Sachin Tendulkar, M.S. Dhoni, AB de Villiers, and Shaun Pollock. This revival could also create an opportunity for players from India and Pakistan to play together, boosting excitement and cricketing relations.
