Martino’s Pizza Outlet in Ahmedabad Sealed by AMC Following Cleanliness Violations

Share

A Martino’s Pizza outlet in Ahmedabad was sealed by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) just a day after its grand opening. The action was taken by the Solid Waste Management (SWM) department of the South-West Zone following reports that the outlet had dumped garbage onto the public road, creating a mess outside the premises. Despite prior instructions to maintain cleanliness and place dustbins outside, the outlet violated these norms, prompting the AMC team to seal it immediately upon inspection.

This incident occurred a day after another outlet of the same pizza chain in the University area was sealed by the civic body due to unhygienic conditions and pest infestation found in the kitchen. The AMC has intensified its monitoring efforts to ensure food safety and hygiene standards are maintained, especially during the festive season.

The sealed outlet in Prahladnagar had announced a free pizza distribution event on its opening day, attracting over 1,000 people. While such promotional events are common, they also bring challenges in managing waste and maintaining cleanliness in the vicinity.

The AMC’s actions highlight the importance of adhering to civic cleanliness norms and the consequences of neglecting public hygiene standards.
