Opposition Names Ex-SC Judge Sudershan Reddy Against NDA’s CP Radhakrishnan in Presidential Race

The Opposition bloc has fielded Justice (Retd.) Sudershan Reddy, a former Supreme Court judge, as its joint candidate for the upcoming Presidential election, challenging the ruling NDA’s nominee, CP Radhakrishnan. The announcement marks the beginning of a high-profile contest that could test the unity and strength of the Opposition alliance.
Justice Reddy, who served in the Supreme Court between 2007 and 2011, is known for his sharp legal mind and progressive judgments. Before his elevation to the apex court, he served as a judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court. On the other hand, the NDA has backed CP Radhakrishnan, a senior BJP leader and current Governor of Jharkhand, projecting him as a seasoned administrator and grassroots politician.
