On 7 July 2025, the Ahmedabad Regional Passport Office will officially relocate its Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) from the Mithakali area to the larger White House facility in Bapunagar, approximately 10 km east of the current centre. This move comes in response to growing demand and logistical constraints at the Mithakali PSK, which currently handles nearly 800 applications daily in a cramped setting with limited parking.

The new Bapunagar PSK is designed to enhance service delivery and ease the burden on eastern Ahmedabad residents. The centre is expected to feature multiple counters and improved amenities, addressing long wait times and overcrowding. While the Mithakali centre will close, the PSK at Vijay Char Rasta, just 3 km away, will continue operations alongside the new facility.
Applicants with appointments scheduled on or after 7 July must visit the Bapunagar centre at their scheduled slots, as any appointments at Mithakali will be redirected. This relocation aligns with broader efforts to decentralize government services and bring critical facilities closer to residential neighbourhoods in Ahmedabad.
The upgraded PSK is expected to significantly reduce processing times and improve convenience for citizens requiring passport and related services.
