In a vibrant celebration of World Environment Day 2025, GEER Foundation, Gandhinagar, in collaboration with the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0’ campaign, organized a large-scale plantation drive at Aranya Udhyan, Gandhinagar. The initiative was aimed at promoting ecological awareness and encouraging community participation in environmental protection.
The event saw enthusiastic involvement from various esteemed bodies, including officials from the Gujarat State Legal Services Authority, Ahmedabad District Legal Services Authority, District Home Guard Gandhinagar, and the MyBharat Gandhinagar unit. Together with GEER Foundation, these organisations reaffirmed their commitment to green action and sustainable living.
Aranya Udhyan, a green lung in the heart of Gandhinagar, served as the perfect venue for the plantation activity, symbolizing nature’s resilience and the collective responsibility to preserve it. Participants planted a variety of native trees, contributing to the park’s biodiversity and strengthening the message of environmental stewardship.
The ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative, now in its second edition, continues to inspire citizens to plant a tree in memory or honor of their mothers—connecting emotional value with environmental action. The event not only celebrated nature but also aimed to foster a deeper emotional and cultural connection to tree plantation.
This joint effort stands as a powerful reminder that protecting our environment begins with united local action. The campaign continues to spread awareness and encourage individuals to be active contributors in building a greener, healthier planet.
