48th Lala Raghubir Singh Hot Weather Cricket Tournament Commences at Modern School

The 48th Lala Raghubir Singh Hot Weather Cricket Tournament began on May 20, 2025, at Modern School, Barakhamba Road, New Delhi. This annual event, named after the school’s founder, aims to promote cricket among young players and has become a significant fixture in the school sports calendar.

The opening ceremony was attended by notable figures, including Mr. Ashok Pratap Singh, Former President of the Board of Trustees of Modern Schools; Justice Mudgal, Chairman of the School Managing Committee; Mr. Rishab Gulati, Member of the School Managing Committee; and Dr. Vijay Datta, Principal of Modern School, Barakhamba Road. Members of the Modern School Old Students’ Association (MSOSA) and the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) were also present.
The tournament features twelve teams divided into four groups, competing in a league-cum-knockout format. It provides a platform for young cricketers to demonstrate their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship. With a history spanning 48 years, the tournament reflects the school’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals through sports.
