Heartiest Christmas Greetings!
In essence, Christmas is God’s greatest gift to mankind.
A gift articulates several messages between the benefactor and the receiver. Firstly, it expresses a message about the giver’s intent. God’s earnest gift was given with pure motive. Secondly, a gift conveys the value and importance that the giver has toward the recipient, even though the recipient may not be deserving of the invaluable gift. God’s perfect gift in form of Jesus, simply describes His love for mankind. Thirdly, perfect gifts are a means of fixing and mending broken relationships. When man had gone astray and distant himself from God, it was then that God gave the perfect gift to restore His relationship with mankind. Lastly, the gift should meet the true need of the recipient. The most expensive gift may not be the right gift if it does not meet the need of the recipient. Since mankind’s true need was for a savior, God gave Jesus as the perfect gift to the world.
