CBSE Takes Action Against Schools Over Inspection Violations

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued show-cause notices to 29 schools in different parts of India after conducting surprise inspections in December 2024. The inspections, carried out on December 18 and 19, aimed to check if the schools were following CBSE’s affiliation rules and guidelines.

On December 18, inspections took place in Delhi schools. The next day, inspections were held in schools located in Bengaluru (Karnataka), Patna (Bihar), Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh), Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh), and Ahmedabad (Gujarat). The inspection reports revealed several violations, leading CBSE to take action.

Violations Found:

  1. Enrollment Irregularities: Some schools enrolled students who were not regularly attending classes.
  2. Academic and Infrastructure Issues: Many schools did not meet CBSE’s required standards for academics and infrastructure.

CBSE has asked all 29 schools to respond to the show-cause notices within 30 days. The schools have also been provided with detailed inspection reports. CBSE emphasized its commitment to maintaining high standards of education and warned of strict action against rule violations.
