Kankariya Carnival 2024 Canceled, Ahmedabad Flower Show Rescheduled

Ahmedabad: Following the passing of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh at the age of 92 on Thursday night at AIIMS Hospital in Delhi, a seven-day national mourning period has been declared. In response, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has canceled the Kankaria Carnival 2024 and postponed the Ahmedabad Flower Show.

The Kankaria Carnival, initially scheduled to run until December 31, has been canceled as a mark of respect, though free entry to the Kankaria Lake Front premises will continue. Meanwhile, the Flower Show at the Sabarmati Riverfront, originally planned to open on January 1, will now commence on January 3. The inauguration by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has also been rescheduled accordingly.
