India and France Join Hands to Build World’s Largest Museum

India has partnered with France Museums Développement to develop the Yuga Yugeen Bharat National Museum, envisioned as the world’s largest cultural institution. Spanning 1,55,000 square meters in New Delhi’s North and South Blocks, the museum will celebrate India’s civilizational legacy.
The Ministry of Culture, in partnership with France Museums Développement (FMD), has launched an ambitious project to develop the Yuga Yugeen Bharat National Museum as a global cultural landmark. Spanning approximately 1,55,000 square meters across the North and South Blocks in New Delhi, the museum will celebrate India’s civilizational history and serve as a cornerstone of the Central Vista Redevelopment Project.
Announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the International Museum Expo in May 2023 and emphasized further during the inauguration of Bharat Mandapam in July, the initiative reflects a commitment to cultural heritage preservation and international collaboration.
